Open Society Foundations Network Specialist Job Vacancy in New York

Purpose of Position
Design, configure, implement, support, monitor and manage the Information System Departments network for performance and end-user satisfaction. Work is performed independently/under general supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. OSI may add, change, or remove essential and other duties at any time.
• Design and configure LAN, WAN, and MPLS network, routing, redundancy and QoS;
• Support, configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server and Linux Server networking;
• Design and implement LAN and WAN network access security;
• Design and implement Aruba Wireless LAN, routing, redundancy, segmentation, QoS and access security;
• Implement switching network security control and visibility such as Network Access Protection, VLAN, STP configuration, Syslog and SNMP;
• Implement Aruba enterprise Wireless LAN Network Access Protection, access security control, monitor, visibility and management; wireless device authentication, authorization and access control management;
• Implement Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Intrusion Protection System (IPS) and network access policy design, incident response and troubleshoot;
• Design, configuration and troubleshoot Riverbed WAN Acceleration appliances;
• Configure and support Checkpoint VPN;
• Design, implement and support ISCSI SAN network;
• Design and implement VMware virtualization network;
• Build HP Blade system and full knowledge of its networking options;
• Implement CLOUD computing concept, network and security design;
• Monitor network performance and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and implement proactive tuning to improve network security, availability and performance;
• Develop network implementation project plan;
• Document all network infrastructure, inventory, configuration and disaster recovery procedure;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four year college or university and five to eight years relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in network implementation, administration, design, analysis and troubleshooting;
• Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent certification with Juniper, HP or Aruba network;
• Extensive knowledge on all IEEE standards and design criteria, all 7 OSI layers troubleshooting, and full understanding of TCP/IP protocol.

• Effectively manage to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot and follow projects through to completion, with strict deadlines and without loss of attention to detail, budget and reporting;
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with internet research and database management;
• Exercise good listening and communication skills with sensitivity to cultural communication differences;
• Effectively work as a team member and independently, with a high-level of self-motivation and ability to set and meet goals;
• Show discretion and ability to handle confidential issues;
• Knowledge of key organizations and networks active in the field;
• Pleasant, diplomatic manner and disposition in interacting with colleagues and the general public.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Essential functions are typically performed in an office setting with a low level of noise. The position requires the employee to crouch, bend, lift and move equipment and other objects weighing up to 15 pounds. Program Specific Requirements
• Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems or related field;
• Strong Microsoft Windows Server and Linux Server networking concept and design;
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills of all networking hardware equipment;
• Hands-on experience working with Aruba, Cisco, Juniper, or HP networking hardware, Riverbed WAN Optimization and Dell Equallogic SAN;
• Experience working with Cisco, Juniper, HP, Aruba, Riverbed networking equipment;
• Experience with IPSwitch, Cisco, HP, Juniper network monitoring tools;
• Technical writing skill documenting all systems infrastructure;
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocol, Internetworking design and troubleshooting, MPLS network design and support;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Visio designing and producing network diagram.
