Open Society Foundations Business Analyst Job Vacancy in New York

Purpose of Position
Analyze and document business requirements, manage application implementation life cycle. Work is carried out independently/under general supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. OSI may add, change, or remove essential and other duties at any time.
• Analyze and document the foundations business processes and user requests, interpret business requirements into technical requirements;
• Work with the software development team to implement, deploy, test, support and maintain the foundations global applications on cloud and on premises;
• Engage in best practice activities by recommending design modifications to improve current processes;
• Create reports for users in various systems;
• Recommending controls for identified problems and writing improved procedures for those controls;
• Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures;
• Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation;
• Provide help desk support and train users;
• Travel may be required;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and three to five years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree in Management of Information Systems or related field;
• Experience in computing or related area with a focus on business analysis.

Skills Required
• Effectively manage to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot and follow projects through to completion, with strict deadlines and without loss of attention to detail, budget and reporting;
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with internet research and database management;
• Exercise good listening and communication skills with sensitivity to cultural communication differences;
• Effectively work as a team member and independently, with a high-level of self-motivation and ability to set and meet goals;
• Show discretion and ability to handle confidential issues;
• Knowledge of key organizations and networks active in the field;
• Pleasant, diplomatic manner and disposition in interacting with colleagues and the general public.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Essential functions are typically performed in an office setting with a low level of noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Program Specific Requirements
• Ability to interface with diverse groups, with a wide variety of technical and non-technical knowledge;
• Ability to learn new technologies in short timeframes;
• Knowledge of M/S Project or other planning tools for projects;
• Knowledge of programming language, database, and cloud computing is a plus.
