Asia Foundation Director, Program Finance Group Job Vacancy in San Francisco

The Asia Foundation seeks a Director to lead its Program Finance Group. This position is based in our San Francisco, CA office.

The Program Finance Group (PFG) plays a crucial financial management role at The Asia Foundation. The
PFG is responsible for all award and project set up, financial reporting, invoicing, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and project close out. The Director of the group develops and overseas the Foundation's policies and processes in these areas, coordinating with 17 field offices in Asia. The PFG Director supervises a team of Program Finance Associates. In addition, the group monitors compliance with funder award terms and conditions, ensures appropriate project accounting in the Deltek Costpoint financial system, and provides guidance to country field offices and program leadership and staff on project financial and administrative matters. Finally, the group provides final signoff on all Foundation awards on behalf of the CFO.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE: Five to ten years of business, finance, or accounting experience, including contract, grant and/or project accounting and management. A minimum of five years of experience supervising staff is required.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

OTHER: Proven ability to lead and motivate direct reports through effective delegation, training, and development. Strong interpersonal skills.
A passion for continuous process improvement and attention to detail. A demonstrated proactive and consultative work style. Ability to interpret and explain complex issues and financial implications . A strong focus on customer service is critical. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Experience with US government cost principles, FAR or OMB circulars. Excellent personal computer skills required (MS office). Experience with US or other government funded organizations is desired. Experience with international context, staff and clients is preferred.
