Michael Kors (USA), Inc Director of Production Architecture Job Vacancy in USA



The Director of Production Architecture is a critical position with primary responsibilities of managing a team of project architects, job captains, and draftspersons.  Applications are sought from qualified candidates who have extensive retail architecture project experience.

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing and lead a team of project architects, job captains, and draftspersons responsible for various portions of project design development and/or the preparation of construction documents.
  • Solving complex problems in connection with the architectural design and detailing of high end retail projects of various scales, ranging from 2000sf to 10,000sf.
  • Coordinating entire architectural design concept, incorporating planning, engineering, interiors as well as other required systems.
  • Coordinating with MK Store Design & Construction teams, consultants and contractors during various stages of project development.
  • Conducting code analyses and being the primary point of contact with jurisdictions.
  • Maintaining the Project Manual and editing specifications as required.
  • Reviewing shop drawings for general conformance with the design intent.
  • Ensuring consultants maintain schedules and are provided information required to complete drawings.
  • Redlining all construction documents to ensure drawings are accurate and consistent between the architectural, lighting and engineering documents
  • Resolving all comments from Landlord review and building department review.
  • Conducting site visits, field reports, and punchlists.
  • Attending construction meetings.
  • Supervising project document control tasks and maintain the quality control of such tasks.
  • Preparing responses to contractor questions, inquiries, and RFIs.
Requirements:
  • Architecture Degree with 10+ years relevant professional experience in high end retail architecture/interiors.
  • Extensive experience in all phases of architecture and in the preparation of construction documents on retail projects on a large and small scale.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of architectural design, documentation, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques and costs.
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge of general architectural practice including programming, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, and lighting design.
  • AutoCAD proficiency and MS Office proficiency.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management – internal and external
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Desire to travel
