Eligibility:
Any accredited US institution of higher learning is eligible to apply, but preference is given to minority serving institutions, small liberal arts colleges and community colleges.
-have academic credentials and standing appropriate for the proposed courses and other educational activities;
-not have held another Fulbright award in the past two years, and otherwise comply with the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board’s policy on Previous Fulbright Grants;
meet the citizenship requirements for this award.

Citizenship requirements
You are eligible to apply for this award if you:
are a New Zealand citizen;
and not be a permanent resident or citizen of the US;
and not be currently living in the US.

Preference for Fulbright awards is given to candidates who have not had extensive recent experience in the US. (ie. have not studied, taught, researched or worked in the US for a period aggregating more than nine months/one academic year during the past five years).

Scholarship Description: The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Programme is for US academic institutions to host New Zealand (or other foreign) academics to teach and internationalise their campus, curriculum and communities. Preference is given to institutions that otherwise have limited opportunities to participate in the Fulbright Scholar Programme. Approximately 45 awards valued at up to $26,100 plus travel and allowances are granted each year, towards one semester or full academic year of teaching, curriculum development and campus activities.
