MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Oracle Applications Database Administrator is responsible for configuring, administering, and maintaining
the Oracle Application database environments in a RAC configuration. Responsibilities include database and
application upgrades, patching, security, troubleshooting and issue resolution, backup procedures, and
performance tuning. In addition, application DBA's will provide support and direction to developers and other
support personnel as needed. Daily responsibilities include monitoring production environment, providing
acceptable system performance, and assuring data is protected and recoverable as required.
Installs, patches, maintains, and upgrades Oracle applications using Oracle utilities and monitoring tools. Setup
and monitor backups; implement and test recovery techniques; diagnose and correct performance problems.
Installs, configures, tunes, and maintains production, development, training, and test environments. Proven
experience managing Oracle database configurations.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Database Programming, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administration and Oracle 11i Administration
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Must demonstrate proven experience designing and implementing enterprise database systems
• Advanced understanding of Oracle Database concepts and structures
• SQL skills and Linux operating system understanding
• Advance knowledge of Oracle applications architecture in a RAC configuration, including oracle application server and 10g experience
• Excellent experience and understanding of patching, cloning, concurrent managers, workflow, OAM, Enterprise Manager, security, backup and recovery procedures, and replication activities
• Oracle database performance tuning skills required
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand
• Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
