Project Description:
The IFES internship program is designed to engage graduate and undergraduate students pursuing a degree in international relations , economics, communications or a related field. The program offers students an insider's view of the realm of international development. Students who participate in this program will develop essential skills that are not attained in the academic world, enabling them to make a successful transition from academic to professional life. This internship is for a full-time paid position with the Afghanistan team.
Job Responsibilities: The general duties of an intern will include, but not limited to:
• Conducting research on a topic of interest related to contemporary Afghanistan & Elections
• Providing logistical and administrative support to Afghanistan projects, including tracking of project expenditures and consultant deliverables, assisting in reviewing financial and contractual documents, and copying and scanning documents.
• Updating IFES Afghanistan internal web page
• Attending and reporting on internal and external meetings and other discussions about assigned projects
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Excellent research and communication skills
• Proficiency with Word and Excel
• Interest in the Southeast Asia region, preferably Afghanistan, elections and/or development
