Job Description
The Sales Engineer – Solution Architect provides engineering input to the new business & current customer teams to ensure they provide solutions that suit the defined technical, service and budgetary requirements. Assist the Sales Executives and Business Development Consultants in qualifying and addressing both prospect and customer technical requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Works to customize highly complex configurations in response to customer needs with minimal to no supervision. Typically handles complex server opportunities plus associated services.
- Collaborates with Sales Reps to determine best product and services fit. This is accomplished via conference calls, site visits, and email correspondence.
- Works with the sales teams to craft proposals and present to prospects.
- Able to demonstrate strong analysis capabilities and technical knowledge by providing innovative, supportable technical solutions.
- Provide training to Sales Staff during initial sales training.
- Present content to customers and users while attending Conferences, Industry & Marketing events.
- Works with operational staff, as it relates to initiatives that affect the SE Team.
- Interfaces with Product Liaison by working with new product initiatives to ensure completeness and relevance to customer requirements.
- Will be responsible for setting a personal and technical training schedule to be reviewed annually with SE Manager and SE Director.
- Will assist with tackling new business initiatives and/or new business segment focus/experiments.
- High frequency of travel may be required.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Advanced knowledge of all areas of business operations.
- Able to resolve highly complex pre-sales technical problems, working with sales personnel.
- Advanced knowledge of e-commerce application software and business processes, including PCI compliance.
- Able to present advanced technical concepts in a clear manner to customers through demos and proposals.
- Advanced writing, editing, communication and interpersonal skills. Solid business acumen.
- Mastery of multiple server operating systems and mastery of networking, server and internet technologies.
- Excellent communication skills. Attention to detail. Strong follow through techniques. Strong public speaking skills and good utilization of sales techniques.
- Requires a minimum of 10+ years of technical support experience or pre-sales technical support experience.
- CISSP security certification required.
- Demonstrated successes in providing sound and creative solutions in the support of essential clients and potential high value clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field preferred. J2WLI
