We are the Bing Performance team, part of the Core Search team in OSD. Our mission is to enable people everywhere to find information and complete their tasks from the web through a snappy & rich search experience brought to them through a highly optimized cloud of servers, a distributed edge and content delivery network, and a creative application of browser and asset rendering. We have made huge strides in our search speeds against Google and are looking for a driven PM to take us past the finish line and make Bing the fastest search experience on the web.

What you will be doing:
Take holistic approach to web performance, identify and work on a technical feature set to improve search speed end-to-end, from the backend stack, the network infrastructure, and the content rendered by the browser

Apply deep statistical analysis to a mind bending volume of data coming in each day and uncover patterns that explain performance problems, and identify disruptive innovations for search speed
Conceive, then augment Bing’s web engineering system through world class web performance tools and measurements, enabling the entire organization to ship features with performance by-design
Make Bing the fastest search engine on the Internet!

The attributes we are looking for:
Stellar Program Managers, with an exceptional track record and a minimum of 4 years of software development and shipping experience
M.S. or higher in CS/Math/Statistics is required. MS in CS with specialty in data mining or machine learning is a plus
Deeply technical knowledge of networking topology, client technologies (javascript, css, html), TCP/IP and HTTP protocol design is required
Experience in performance optimizing techniques for client and server side technologies is preferred
Demonstrated statistical analysis skills in a business environment, use of statistical packages such as R or equivalent tools like SAS, SPSS is preferred
