A global industry-leading manufacturer of defense and security products including Safetydrape blast curtains is searching for a strong Director of Business Development-Western USA. The Director of Business Development is responsible for development of sales, service and goodwill within a defined geographical location. The ideal candidate will provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. He/she will refine established plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contribute to the growth of the company.
Responsibilities:
• Make physical and phone sales to Federal, state and local government accounts as well as select commercial accounts within the assigned territories.
• Follow up on existing open quotes and develop new quotes.
• Learn to gather accurate enough data and measurements while on site surveys to produce accurate proposals.
• Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
• Provides timely feedback to senior management.
• Meet and exceed sales quotas.
• Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
• Must have commitment, organizational and selling skills, and excellent work habits.
• Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
• Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees and board members.
• Organize reports on physical and phone sales calls.
Requirements:
• 5-7 years of experience in sales.
• Government sales and marketing experience, mandatory
• Experience with defense and security industry products, preferred.
• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
• Willingness to travel a minimum of 1-2 times per month in the Western district.
• Proven leadership and ability to drive sales.
Available territory: Western district including CA,NV,AZ,NM,CO,MT,WA,OR and AK
