Description
InterExchange Work & Travel USA is a US government-regulated J-1 Visa Program that places thousands of international students in summer jobs with American employers. We are seeking temporary administrative assistance for the Summer Work & Travel program. Employer Relations Specialists play a vital role in the overall success of the program by vetting potential host employers who wish to employ and host international students. This position is trained to determine the validity of a job placement to ensure students have a safe and successful experience on the program. Employer Relations Specialists vet potential employers by phone, email, fax and Internet research, keeping track of the process and responses within our database. They also follow up with employers and verify participant job assignments throughout the season, reporting any unusual matters to the Program Director. The day-to-day responsibilities of this position consist primarily of phone, Internet research and data-entry work, with other clerical duties as necessary. This is a temporary position lasting approximately six months, dependent upon program needs. The ideal candidate is computer savvy and likes a fast-paced work environment where they get to creatively solve problems all day.

Qualifications/Skills: We seek individuals with excellent clerical/organizational skills who are motivated by connecting the dots. Great communication and computer skills are essential. Must be a self-motivated, friendly, reliable team player with METICULOUS attention to detail and follow-through.

Physical Demands:
  • Lifting: 0-25 lbs
  • Frequency of lifting: infrequent
Visual, Hearing, Dexterity & Mental Demands: Adequate to perform the essential functions of the job such as using a telephone, answering emails, filing paperwork, viewing a computer screen, and operating office equipment.

Working conditions: The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office environment. The position generally involves frequent standing; continuous sitting; frequent walking; light to moderate lifting; light carrying; frequent bending and reaching; keyboarding and telephone operation; in-person communication.
