Summary of Responsibilities:
Supports the team/Manger of this function in the following responsibilities:
portfolios risk monitoring and monthly reporting to Parent Company's Risk Area. Responsible for supporting the team in managing data, running periodic reports, setting up new ad-hoc reports. The position implies getting familiar with Santander's specific metrics and reporting framework.
Essential Functions:
- Provide support in month Risk Committee and other monthly executive meeting material and other executive reports
- Monitor structure of portfolio purchase forecast and cost / benefit analysis
- Develop post-implementation monitoring of purchase portfolios and other investments
- Develop portfolio forecasting tools designed to aid senior executives in communication of early performance indicators
- Present analysis to management in a clear, concise and actionable format
- Update key performance indicators / monthly reports for parent company / investors
- Data pulling and management from Enterprise Datawarehouse
- Work with IT to assure data integrity and provide support in the UAT process
- Portfolios performance trends: analysis and explanation
- Ad hoc reporting design and implementation
- Provide support in drawing up the annual Risk Budget
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Other Functions:
- Special projects as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, MIS, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research or related field required, advanced degree preferred
- Minimum three (3) years experience in the financial services industry; sub-prime auto experience desired
- Advanced proficiency in software including Excel, database tools such as Access and SQL, statistical software such as SAS, and OLAP tools such as Brio and Cognos
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to effectively explain to others how to understand and approach complicated issues
- Ability to translate analysis into a clear business plan
Working Conditions:
- Extended working hours may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
- Travel to multiple facilities may be required.
