RTI International Program Development Coordinator Job Vacancy in United States

RTI is currently accepting applications for the position Program Development Coordinator (PDC) to support our work in international education . The PDC is responsible for a broad range of administrative and operational activities in support of RTI's work in international education . Under the supervision of the Program Director, the PDC will work as a member of the education program and with individuals and groups outside of the program, as appropriate, to further the program's goals. S/he will provide programmatic and logistical support to the Program Director and international education group, through development and management of proposal and project systems, supporting proposal efforts, coordination of staff meetings and events, recruitment support, and other program needs as they arise. This position will be based in Research Triangle Park, NC.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate through work products and reference - feedback the following: an exceptional ability to plan and organize work, assemble and summarize materials, prepare report inputs and other documentation, and follow through on agreed actions, while maintaining a positive and productive attitude with team members in a fast-paced and demanding environment. S/he must be energetic and show initiative, demonstrate a willingness to take on challenges, while at the same time appreciating the scope of the position and the role within the team.

Specific Responsibilities:
Proposal coordination and development (50%):
• Coordinate and organize overall tracking, capture and bid development efforts. This will require creative and innovative thinking and tool development, as well as persistence and dedication to keeping systems and information current.
• Provide technical and administrative support to proposals, expressions of interest, and other business development activities.
• Support knowledge management initiatives, marketing and informational materials development, and development of corporate capability statements.
• Support recruitment of international and local staff, consultants, and partners for proposals and projects, including related administrative activities, in collaboration with Human Resources .
• Draft personnel, management, corporate capability, and/or other proposal sections as appropriate and required; develop proposal graphics, charts, and tables; and coordinate related proposal inputs from partner organizations.
• Support development of work plans, costing and budgeting estimates for proposals, in coordination with proposal team leaders and budget and finance specialists

General program and project support (50%):
• Assist with logistical and administrative tasks for specific project activities, in particular for assessments and surveys.
• Compile and develop project documentation and report inputs; ensure that information related to the international education program is made easily available, including internally via shared drives, databases and externally via RTI and project websites.
• Assist with other administrative and technical tasks, as needed, such as weekly meeting organization, workshop and event planning, etc.
• As appropriate and relevant, participate in geographically- or topically-focused working groups and cross-program initiatives.

Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in education, international relations, or related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, process and systems-oriented, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Experience supporting the development of proposals, in particular for US government or other international donor funding.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Excellent soft skills, including strong interpersonal and communication skills, a problem-solving attitude, and being a self starter who works both independently and as a collaborative team player.
• Language skills in French, Arabic or Spanish highly desirable.
• Prior experience working, studying, or traveling in developing countries a plus.
• Prior experience working with donor-funded projects, particularly USAID, a plus.
• Experience teaching or in international education development will be an asset.
