Job Description
The Marketing Manager will support the development and deployment of marketing programs to achieve SMB acquisition targets for both for Rackspace cloud and hybrid products. The manager will interface and work effectively with both internal and external partners and resources ensuring specific marketing plans are developed and executed to drive incremental subscriber growth.
Manager will be hands-on, go-getter. You will have a mix of experience that includes content generation, acquisition marketing and lead generation. You will be an email marketing expert, but understand the importance of adopting new marketing tactics for acquisition – including the use of content, conversation, education and social marketing. You will be responsible for demand and lead generation through outbound channels, lead nurturing strategies, educational campaigns and creative concept thinking. Manager will execute, monitor, and track marketing programs to ensure subscriber growth and acquisition costs are aligned with company goals.
The ideal candidate will be creative, proactive, energetic, detail-oriented, and analytic. Above all, they will be a team player. They will have a proven track record of successful marketing program management and must have ability to work in a fast-paced, rapid growth environment. Additionally, the candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Online and affiliate marketing experience is important. Previous experience with reseller, subscription-based and SaaS-based services is a plus. BS/BA and 7 years of marketing experience required.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation and execution of outbound marketing efforts to drive leads and new acquisition for Rackspace cloud and hybrid products. Expertise in email, webinars, content creation, social media is important.
- Develop, source, write and publish content.
- Oversee and manage complex social marketing campaigns and projects and multi-functional teams
- Understand market segmentation and how to execute segment-specific marketing tactics.
- Build and ensure the ongoing integrity, relevance, and segmentation of our marketing database.
- Work closely with the online marketing team to ensure campaign consistency and best practices.
- Evaluate ROI of marketing tactics, campaigns and channels, manage expenses to a budget.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 7-10 years experience in marketing, product marketing, and/or demand generation with major B2B technology brands, preferably those with a SaaS-based subscription model. Experience working with a major brand a plus.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including both marketing copy and analytical writing (writing samples required).
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Extremely organized and highly motivated.
- Understanding of the overall media and measurement/analytics landscape, online advertising and marketing trends.
- Understanding of Rackspace strategic and competitive position.
- Expertise with Salesforce.com and Marketing Automation tools (Marketo etc.) highly desirable.
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficient.
